Visit Nanmyint tower, Maha Aungmye Bonzan monastery, built of brick and stucco; Bargaya monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts. Continue to Sagaing Hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees and the home for the mediators. Sagaing is famous for silver crafts.
Proceed in the Amarapura’s small lane where silk and cotton weaving, dying, paintings are all part of their daily life. Then walk on world’s oldest and longest teak bridge called U Bein Bridge. The bridge is constructed by immense teak posts and has been standing in the water for more than 200 years.
